A New Series on Trauma and Recovery
In the past few weeks, I've been working on a five-part series about trauma. I've shared small posts on the topic before, but I wanted to go a little deeper, especially since stepping into my new role at a specialist family violence organisation.
Over the next two weeks I'll be sharing a series on trauma and recovery. It's a topic that matters deeply to me, and I want to tell you why, and what it means for the space you step into when you come to Blüte.
What is coming
This series talks openly about trauma:
What it is, how it can show up in the body, relationships and sense of self, and how recovery can look very different for each person. It includes a post on how children recover through play.
Please read at your own pace, and feel free to pause or come back another day.
More than a place to lie down and relax
Many people know Blüte for sound meditation, cacao, SoulNar and Reiki. These are beautiful modalities, and they're a big part of what I offer.
But Blüte is also more than that.
Before and alongside Blüte, I have worked in integrated family services case management, supporting families through challenges such as parenting, mental health, family violence, child protection and alcohol and other drug use. I have more than 14 years in early childhood education, and I’m currently studying family violence prevention and practice, with further counselling studies planned. Today I work in a role supporting children and women impacted by family violence.
That experience shapes how I hold space. It means I bring an understanding of trauma, safety and recovery to every session, whatever you've come for.
What this means for you
Whatever modality you choose, you are supported. Sound meditation, cacao, Reiki or SoulNar, you're met with care, not just an experience.
You choose what to share. You are welcome to share as much or as little as feels safe and comfortable. You never have to explain yourself, and silence is welcome too.
You set the pace. You can say yes, no or "not today" at any point.
You're seen as a whole person. Your strengths, your story and your experience matter, not only the reason you booked.
I'll be upfront about what I offer and about confidentiality and its limits. My sessions are complementary and are not a replacement for therapy, counselling or medical care. If you need and want more support, I'll gently help you find it.
Blüte means blossom in German. Blossoming takes safety, time and the right conditions. My hope is that Blüte can be one of those places for you.
Part 1 of the series is coming tomorrow: What is trauma, What is a trauma response, and What does trauma-informed practice mean?
Be gentle with yourself. You are doing more than you know.
